The channel was original derived from #IE4 and #IE5 founded by TReKiE. In early 1996, using the bot TReKSyS, the first Channel IE was born. Now, the latest IE channel -- #IE6 is visited by hundreds everyday.
Channel IE6 is governed by policies, bibles, and syllabi established in early 1997 to prevent takeovers. Everyone (operator or otherwise) has a voice in our channel. Opinions are to be spoken and no (bans) actions will be taken for speaking your mind.
To ensure the smooth, efficient and continuous operation of Channel IE6, regular operator meetings are held at least once a month.
