Getting Started

Once you have started Skype Highlighter, it will need to be authorized to Skype.  Switch to the Skype window and click the 'Allow Access' button and then switch back to Skype Highlighter (it will be flashing at you on the taskbar).  After this, messages start arriving and appear in the main window.  You can sort between your highlighted messages and all messages by clicking the appropriate options at the top of the window.

Once you minimize the Skype Highlighter window, it will be accessible by double-clicking an icon in the notification area.

Highlight notifications

Notifications will appear using balloons in the notification area and will appear like this:
Highlight notification balloon

If you are already seeing the message in a Skype message window, there will not be a balloon notification.

Additionally, when you click the balloon notification, it will open up the Skype message window where the message was detected.

Setting up Highlights

You can set up individual words to highlight by clicking the Highlights button and using the appropriate Add, Edit and Delete buttons.  You can also trigger highlights for your Skype user name and display name, which is turned on automatically by default.

Automatically starting with Windows

For this release, Skype Highlighter does not start with Windows or Skype automatically.  If you would like this capability, click the Options button, click 'Start with Windows' and click OK.  Skype Highlighter will then automatically start minimized in the background when Windows starts as well as automatically connect to Skype when it is launched.

More stuff

An about screen can be triggered by clicking the version number in the top left-hand corner.  Additionally, you can find plenty more features and options in the application.
